Twenty two brands tasted, four come out on top and a handful of runner ups. The rest? Well, let’s just say, they didn’t make the cut.
We’re busting out the old fashioned recipe, Tequila Añejo Style! We’re making a few of them, each with an añejo tequila including: Riazul, Tres Generaciones, El Gran Jubileo and Partida.
We’ve made our way to the Añejo Tequila Tasting! Although tequila isn’t Jennifer’s favorite spirit, she did a good job representing for those that have no experienced the añejo style of tequila. We’re tasting four brands including: Riazul, Tres Generaciones, Partida and El Gran Jubileo.
Time to make five reposado tequila cocktails, we’re creating the La Bomba to taste test the brands. We’ll make the La Bomba Tequila with five brands of Reposado: Tres Generaciones, Don Julio, El Gran Jubileo, Partida and 100-proof Dulce Vida.
We’re tasting reposado tequila, five brands including: Tres Generaciones, Don Julio, El Gran Jubileo, Partida and the 100-Proof Dulce Vida. We tried to get a cross-section of pricing and style but each tequila ranged from USD $40 to USD $50 so we didn’t get as big of a price bracket as we wanted.
We’re adopting a southern recipe this week: the Texas Tea. Okay, the origins probably do not lie in the area of Texas as this is yet another “tea” style recipe that no doubt branched off of the Long Island Iced Tea. The big difference in this cocktail is the inclusion of Bourbon as a spirit. Bourbon brings its own flavor and finish to the drink making this a cocktail all its own. You don’t have to be from Texas to [...]
Tropical drinks, slightly sweet cocktails, are pretty and enjoyable on the face. The Tropical Ivan falls directly in the category of fun for your face with a bit of tequila, bitters and triple sec. It’s not too often we’ve done a drink with fruit punch before, especially with tequila! We’re using the Tres Generaciones this week to produce our Tropical Ivan cocktail. Please Note: We recently found out our bottle sample of Partida Añejo was bad. After receiving a new bottle, the “sour” taste reported in this video went away and it was smooth as it should have been. Sorry for the mis-communication, bad samples do happen from time to time. We’re topping of this week with a little tasting before the 4th of July. Just incase you’re going to be out and about drinking Añejo tequila, here is a few brands [...]
I’ve looked at Tres Generaciones Plata and Añejo and left Reposado for last in the list. I’m a fan of the reposado style because it typically fits well between a lighter “mix” Tequila and a sipping aged tequila. However, in my path I’ve seen plenty of great sipping silvers so there is some dispute in that assumption. Nevertheless, it’s time to hit up the reposado for a good tasting! I’ve tasted Tres Generaciones Reposado both on ice and neat (at [...]
Welcome to our second Tequila tasting, this week we’re hammering out some tastings against a few Reposado brands. These brands may be used for sipping like an aged Añejo or mixing in your favorite cocktail that calls for tequila. The brands being covered are all top-notch in quality and taste; I ordered them in a high level preferance but I’d never turn away from any of these 100% de Agave products if ordering a cocktail at a restaurant or elsewhere. [...]
Let’s cut to the chase, I’m going to sit down with some Tres Generaciones Añejo and see how it tastes. Before we taste it, we’ve got to respect the lightly gold color, reminding me of a light beer without the carbonation. The scents rise up quickly into the air, with a “briney” vanilla flavoring and touches of sweet agave notes all wrapped in a light oak. I found some subtle caramel in the bouquet when swirling around the Tres Generaciones [...]
