Foolish Man’s Hattan, How-To Cocktail
A flavor that starts a bit sweet and ends a bit dry, with the sweet coming from the sloe gin and the dry from the vermouth.
A flavor that starts a bit sweet and ends a bit dry, with the sweet coming from the sloe gin and the dry from the vermouth.
An alcohol intensity of a “gental 10.” Herbal notes balanced against the citrus flavor with a citrus and oak aroma. Very flavorful but potent.
A light citrus flavor that moves into more of a medicinal flavor, sloe berry and a bite of vodka burn in the finish
Very big orange juice (or citrus) presence, a bit light in total extreme bite, hiding alcohol well. Good aroma of amaretto with super juicy appeal.
Flavors of a sweet sloe gin berry with mild southern comfort spice and a nice lemon citrus throughout the drink, especially in the finish. Definitely a sweeter drink alternative.
A huge flavorful cocktail with wicked awesome tastes and flavors. A bit of sweet, a slight hint of sour all brought with a real life fruitiness that will impress friends and family at parties. After the show we still sat down trying to find the flavor and Jennifer got it: Yankee Candle. The finish reminds us of the scenes of a red yankee candle (strawberry?)
We’re adopting a southern recipe this week: the Texas Tea. Okay, the origins probably do not lie in the area of Texas as this is yet another “tea” style recipe that no doubt branched off of the Long Island Iced Tea. The big difference in this cocktail is the inclusion of Bourbon as a spirit. Bourbon brings its own flavor and finish to the drink making this a cocktail all its own. You don’t have to be from Texas to [...]
The Red Devil is a potent little cocktail of red proportions, sweet taste and alcoholic fire. This is a big boy, we’re putting it into the tiki god head, the glasses you can buy at AwesomeDrinks.com. While this isn’t truely a “tiki” style cocktail (not as much fruit as we’d expect and no rums), it fits the style and mood of the polynesian cocktail. If you’ve been looking for a new sloe gin recipe, this cocktail includes it. Now we’re [...]
The Alabama Slammer, a smooth cocktail with slightly sweet flavors and a tropical feeling. We’ve never seen palm trees in Alabama but this drink sure makes you think of a white sand beach under a shady palm tree. We’re bringing back the Sloe Gin and some Amaretto in this cocktail; mingling with some southern comfort and orange juice gives you a fine tasting beverage. Stay tuned, tomorrow we’ll revisit this recipe as we compare it to a Dekuyper’s Burst Bar [...]
This little cocktail has a bit of everything but builds itself into a beautiful tropical delight. The Mongolian Mother Fucker is full of flavors while not overdoing any of them. Although each shot is only 1/4 oz it still can pack a punch. This was a user-submitted recipe and we had to try it — anything that has this many alcohols is a must try. The smooth powerful flavors of gold rum intertwined with beautiful banana flavored liqueur with hints of sloe gin berries and a slight lemon. The Caribbean Millionaire exhibits luscious apricots from the brandy with a well dancing notes of rum. If you’ve never tried a Caribbean Millionaire, now it’s time to try. This is a great tropical drink with a bit of everything all mixed together in a perfect little red cocktail. Check us out at Everydaydrinkers.tv to see the episode [...]
The Sloe Gin Fizz came into existence in the mid-1900′s shows itself as a classic cocktail. Beautiful color, potent berry taste and falls right in the middle of sweet and sour. While you can taste a little lemon it’s not harsh or bitter as it’s balanced against equal simple syrup. This is, by far, the best way to present a cocktail drinker to the heavenly Sloe Gin. Once you have a Sloe Gin Fizz you’ll want to go get yourself [...]
