Imagine a coffee-flavored licorice and you’re on the right path, the tequila adds a little sense of “spirit” to the start of the flavor and coffee follows with a long fennel finish.
A light yellow shooter with the aroma of sambuca. Imagine blending cough syrup, black licorice and sprite together and you’ve got the Passport to Hell cocktail recipe. The recipe: 1/2 oz Red Stag Bourbon, 1/2 oz Brandy, 1/2 oz Triple Sec, 1/2 oz Sambuca.

This cocktail contains 1 1/2 oz. Sambuca, 1/2 oz. Irish Cream and a Single drop of grenadine.

The name comes from the neat “flat line” across the middle of the drink, because after this you may feel like you’re flatlining.

The Via Veneto is our first official sambuca cocktail recipe on Common Man Cocktails. Although this cocktail only contains a minor amount of Sambuca, it’s enough to really give the brandy cocktail a personality. We chose Averna Sambuca Liquirizia because it has great flavors and deep black liquorice taste. If you love the flavor of Sambuca you should checkout Liquirizia as it’s full of great taste.
