The Koloa Dark Rum, right from Kaua’i to my mouth! A dark rum product using cane sugar from somewhere just a bit different than usual. Sure, everyone knows of the Caribbean rum and other islands…but Hawaii is a new one for us!

A fairly sour cocktail with passion fruit as the secondary flavor over that of the sour citrus. The dark rum doesn’t play nearly the part we would have thought it would play. In the end, I think this recipe needs more passion fruit syrup to really kick up the passion.

Mildly sweet strawberries and black strap dark rum, perhaps a bit too much dark rum which overpowers some of the mango and fruit flavors. Fruit flavors with a kick in the face of alcohol.

Strong potent tropical flavor, pineapple with a bit of a bite, especially if you sip from the 151.
