Made in drunken celebration of Sharknado 3 and tequila day, the sharknado 3 cocktail was invented by a fan of the movie. We think the movies are a bit silly but everyone has their own taste. Speaking of taste, everyo...
It's just not good enough to do a blind tasting if we don't include vodka in our blind tasting portfolio. Today we look at three vodkas, true blind, and include Teton Glacier, Titos Vodka and St. Petersburg Vodka. Wh...
A sour cocktail that tastes like dessert and fun loving creamy oak. Of course, egg white is involved for that silky smooth mouth feel, foamy head and taking some edge off the overproof cask strength bourbon. Bad Eggs...
So, we all know Bond's thoughts on what drink is better, but because Bond is a fictional character from the mind of its creator we can only assume Ian Flemming likes his drinks shaken too, right? Well, lets push awa...
How do you test if you have a bad egg? Before you crack that egg for a fancy egg white for your whiskey sour, you may want to make sure it hasn't expired. Sure, there is an expiration on the box of eggs, but how accu...

Today we create an off-shoot of the long island iced tea which we've named The One Night Stand Long Island Iced Tea. Why? Because after consulting with Jaelithe and our live stream audience, the name fit the conversat...
The fourth edition of our blind tasting battlegrounds, and we've got tequila back for a second time. This time Siete Leguas goes up against Alma tequila and Tres Generaciones. Again, we don't know the other two brand...
Today we create a cocktail for Nicolas, one of our patreon supporters. Nicolas said he liked flips, liked chocolate, likes bourbon and boom, we got a cocktail! Jennifer designed this cocktail and, if you like a whisk...

This Ocean Spray Cranberry juice cocktail was developed to help drive some exposure and sales of cranberry juice. It has a classic cocktail look, could use a bit of a garnish and definitely hides the Southern Comfort. Not a hugely potent drink, has a bit of a dry cranberry finish with some nice acidity and a little sweetness. SoCo brings the structure to the flavors but isn't dominant.

The Liquid Cocaine is a cocktail with many variations to the recipe, we've done one before but it was quite different than this version of the liquid cocaine.

The Delheim, a cocktail lost in our Fan Appreciation Month that should have got done during military appreciation week. Unfortunately it fell under my table, but I've recovered it and here it is for all the glory!

The Purple Gecko, turns out not so purple because we forgot the 1 oz. of Cranberry Juice. So, if you do that perhaps you'll get a nice purple and a bit more dryness in the flavor profile. In many ways, this tastes much like a standard margarita, but it could use a bit of agave nectar to go into that direction. In other ways, once cranberry juice is added, you're closer to that of the Pink Cadillac Margarita.

The southern redberry, a 'ruby red grapefruit' colored drink with lots of dry and odd sour flavor. Neither of us really cared for the flavor profile, although with a bit of Orinoco bitters, we were able to balance it out a bit better. Both of us agree that the sweetness could be a bit better, the red bull isn't helping too much. This drink makes you thirsty.

Another great tasting cocktail today, with Veev Açaí liqueur, although it's the older model of the bottle and missing some of the newer proofage in VeeV's redesign. Don't forget fan appreciation week, so we can learn a bit about the CMC family of viewers. One big happy family, write in and tell us about yourself.

Today we take a pink liqueur, not too unlike X-Rated in color (and market presence) with a slightly different flavor profile due to the cranberry being a nice dry cranberry finisher. The gin presences is slightly muted in the Kinky Cranberry if you use a slightly more subtle gin because the other flavors are predominant. Using Greenhook ginsmiths gives us a bit of a juniper and camomile essence--a bit of the herbal quality, dryness of the cranberry and Kinky.

This cocktail may need a straw as the overproof is floated on top of the Dark Passion Cocktail. This cocktail comes off slightly sweet (brown sugar) with focused citrus flavor and a bit of tartness. The passion fruit sits on the tongue near the finish of the drink after the residual alcohol subsides. Or, as Ian put it, it's "dancing" on his tongue (not tap dancing).

When taking a trip through time and experiencing the cocktails as they once were, sometimes you trip upon a drink that just doesn't live up to how we cocktail today. However, there is a lesson to be learned and touching upon our years long past is a great educational exercise...but how much would you pay for that privilege?

Put down your hot wings, it's time to make a cocktail! The question is, what does this cocktail really "taste like." Is it blue nerds, is it a blue flavor ice or perhaps blue Jolly Rancher.
