We’re experimenting with our first Cachaça tasting. We’ve not really had too many products from Brazil on the show, but this sugar cane distilled spirit is definitely new and exciting to us! We’re tasting Cachaça 51, Leblon and Boca Loca.
American Gin, what’s the difference between a gin made in America and the long understood London Dry version? We’ve noticed a lot more citrus aroma’s in these gins compared to other London styles, but it doesn’t end there! Which do we like the best?
Time to make five reposado tequila cocktails, we’re creating the La Bomba to taste test the brands. We’ll make the La Bomba Tequila with five brands of Reposado: Tres Generaciones, Don Julio, El Gran Jubileo, Partida and 100-proof Dulce Vida.
I bought a Micro Flip HD (8GB) and I needed a good way to test it, so I went on set and tapped a little behind the scenes action on what we use to record Common Man Cocktails, Alcohols by Volume and our audio shows. Hopefully this is a good but not to “shaky” tour of the set. The Flip handles things pretty well, albiet a bit shaky when walking or moving.
White Russian’s are a staple cocktail and will continue to be a very popular with to consume vodka and coffee liqueur. It only seems appropriate to test it against our coffee liqueurs: Kamora, Kapali, Kahlua, Tia Maria and Patron XO Cafe.
Today we’re looking at a few select brands of gin that run the price range from USD $16 all the way to USD $45. The gin brands include: G’Vine Nouaison, Martin Miller, Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire. A taste of the London Dry!
We know which rum was our favorite from last episode, but we don’t know which one tastes the best in a cocktail. Presumably the cocktail that tasted best when tested straight should be the winner, right? After all, the best spirits make the best ingredients for a cocktail. Of course, all of these coconut rums are good, we are just looking for the one that is the tastiest! Once again we’re bringing Parrot Bay, Cruzan, Don Q and Malibu coconut [...]
