Lovoka Caramel Liqueur was released this spring (2013), so it is still fairly new on the market so you may have a bit of a hard time finding it for now. We are here to prepare you for such a launch and get you familiar with what Lovoka offers in their caramel liqueur product.
Here is the live event we did in Waltham, MA at Gordon’s Wine, Spirits and Culinary Center. It is an hour long and really only for those that want to watch or have nothing better to do.
Twenty two brands tasted, four come out on top and a handful of runner ups. The rest? Well, let’s just say, they didn’t make the cut.
Flavorful vanilla notes that are prominent but not overbearing, a smooth and sweet rum with molasses notes and sweet cotton candy nose. Mild to moderate sweet sensation at room temperature with only hints of alcohol bite in the finish followed by muted nutmeg. Smooth, flavorful, definitely will compliment a compound cocktail with a few varying ingredients.
Sparkle Donkey Silver brings crisp clean grassy notes while Sparkle Donkey Reposado takes more of a sweet caramel candy aroma and cotton candy finish all alongside a rich agave.

Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon brings sweet bright oak flavor, warming brown sugar, caramel with a nice mouth feel with a light strike of bite near the finish
Forty Creek brings some nice sweet and spicy notes right in the nose (aroma) that follow through with the sip. Almost a honey/maple syrup like attack and lingering finish along with a full smooth experience from start to stop that’s not overly dominated by oak yet not too sweet.
Overall, Sour apple and watermelon brought the most versatile tastes while grape taste like purple. Blue Raspberry was very similar to that of UV Blue and Cherry is your basic cherry flavor…it always works, but it’s not that exciting.
Today we’re taking a few moments to test out the Sipping Stones we got in for review. The purpose of Sipping Stones is to allow you to properly taste your whiskey, at a mild chill, without the impact over overdosing your alcohol in water dilution.
Most skittle flavors bring some type of spirit relationship; yellow brings me to lemonchello, green to some margarita-like flavors, but then there is red…. red tastes like a red skittle but that’s really all I could come up with for red!
Mariposa brings a great orange blossom aroma and flavor with neat juniper mid-palate aroma with an overal sweet yet mild agave nectar body. The agave gives a bit of sweet honey that isn’t nearly as thick and syrup-like compared to that of the nectar.
