We’re bringing out some stouts again, this time we’ve got more tasters including an injured Dave. This episode is reasonable and length and unending funny. We’ve got everything from regular stout to chocolat stout, how can you go wrong?
Fast and furious into the summertime heat, we bring instant cocktails and custom recipes to light.
Here we go, time to bust into something with a bit of alcohol. Barelywine is a brew that can knock your socks off in many directions from hops to intense alcohol and sometimes off-dry finishes. The almighty Barelywine gives you an example of some really intense brews that fit by themselves in their own category.
Recorded as “episode 39,” this is really episode 40. Luke and Mike hit the bar to do a scotch tasting on the fly, Derrick’s back at home base recording the show as they taste (and tasting his own). They hit The Royal Mile in Des Moines dressed in… suites? Yeah, they’re suiting up and really standing out at the table.
Pale Ales, one of the most predominant American brews, usually in the form of the famous “IPA.” We’re sampling a bunch of unique brews from Sam Adams to Sierra Nevada.
Miller Genuine draft to Budweiser, Steel Reserve, Michelob Light, Coors and more. We’re tasting American mass market beers to see if we can find a defined difference between the brands and having a good time doing it. While the episode isn’t full of new discoveries it was a great time doing it and should provide a little entertainment during your day.

This week we’re exploring Porter, a nice dark brew with some maltiness, a bit of hop bite and a rich history that is often mingled tightly with that of a Stout. From American Porter’s to English Porters, we’re trying to tackle them all in one session. What beers are we drinking? Here are a few samples: Duck Rabbit Porter,Thomas Creek Porter, Sierra Nevada Porter, Samuel Smith Tadcaster (Taddy Porter), Flying Dog’s Gonzo Imperial Porter, Michelob Porter, Templeton Rye Porter, Boulevard [...]
This episode we’re drinking brews from the macrobrewery Michelob, a part of Anheuser Busch. We’re drinking Michelob Amber Bock, Michelob Pale Ale, Porter, Belgian style wheat, Hop Hound, Ultra Pomegranate Raspberry and Winter Bourbon Cask Ale. With a good cross-section oif Michelob brews, we’re able to give you some good tasting notes and information on Michelob from a beer drinkers perspective. Got beer?
We’re coming together to drink some red wine, however, only two of us are actually wine drinkers so it gets interesting. We’re drinking Syrah, Shiraz red wine while discussing our thoughts and being stupid. However, nobody gets more out of control than Luke, who finishes his entire bottle of wine by the end of the show. Who do you think gets a call from his mom before the end of the episode?
Once upon a time we covered Brown Ale‘s on the show on November 26th 2007, one year ago today. It’s been a few years since then and we’ve learned a lot, found some friends that share the brown ale experience and wanted to re-cast this episode in stone. This episode covers more brown beers than ever before with a cast ready to consume them and laugh while doing it. We’re covering: Abita Turbodog, Sam Smith Nut Brown Ale, Smuttynose Old [...]
