Orange Bitters & Such:
The shy sour isn’t as sour as many cocktail recipes can get–but the mezcal balanced against the amaretto with a dash of salt makes it balanced. There are no additional sugars in this mezcal cocktail, the shy sour is straight up spirits and juices.
Use fresh squeezed juices, especially the grapefruit juice as it will help avoid the grapefruit tart bite from bottled products. This Mezcal recipe works best with an over-smokey mezcal.
Ian gets back from Comicon to sit through a smoke filled cocktail month. Ian isn’t a huge fan of Mezcal because of the smokey nature, but Dan and Derrick love it. So, it’s time to make shy sours for everyone!
The Shy Sour
– 1.5 oz. Mezcal (Smoky is better)
– 1/2 oz. Amaretto
– 1 oz. Pink Grapefruit Juice
– 1/2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
– 2 Dashes Orange Bitters
– 1 Pinch Salt
