Let us learn how to make the greyhound cocktail (or grayhound cocktail) which is a grapefruit and vodka highball for fans of a nice fresh grapefruit.
Hey wait, what do you mean fresh grapefruit? yeah, don’t buy store bought grapefruit juice for your greyhound cocktail recipe, use a fresh squeezed fruit because the juice is slightly sweeter and doesn’t have the same level of tart.
Don’t get me wrong, the greyhound cocktail is still going to be slightly dry/tart but it won’t assault your senses like store bought fruit that’s been preserved for the long haul. The color of the greyhound should result in either a pink or maybe even an orange or red depending on the style of grapefruit you’ve been able to find fresh.
This is a simple vodka cocktail for your enjoyment, unless you have heart medication that requires you to not consume grapefruit. If you can’t have a simple vodka cocktail like the greyhound due to medical conditions, we’ve got your back, try the screwdriver as it’s the same ratios but with orange juice over grapefruit juice–yet it will be slightly sweeter than the greyhound cocktail.
– 1 ½ oz. / 50ml Vodka
– 4 oz. / 120ml Grapefruit Juice
